Soto’s elite plate discipline and historically elevated walk rate underpin the strong trader consensus favoring him to finish with more total walks than Judge this season. The Mets outfielder’s patient approach at the plate, refined selectivity against breaking balls, and ability to work deep counts consistently position him for a high BB/PA rate that projects to overcome any early-season volume gap. Recent form shows Soto maintaining strong on-base skills despite fewer games played, while Judge’s power profile draws more aggressive pitching and occasional strikeouts that limit his walk opportunities relative to expectations. Head-to-head and league-wide trends reinforce Soto’s edge in sustained selectivity, with no reported injuries altering roster availability for either player. This pricing reflects the wisdom of crowds assessing long-term matchup dynamics and individual tendencies over raw current totals.
