This market will resolve according to the official UFC Welterweight division champion on December 31, 2026 at 12:00 PM ET. Only official UFC division champions will count. Interim champions will not count. If the relevant belt is vacant at this market’s check time, or there is otherwise no champion in the specified division, this market will resolve to “Other”. The primary resolution source for this market will be official information from the UFC (https://www.ufc.com/athletes).Islam Makhachev's status as the current welterweight champion, secured via dominant performance over Jack Della Maddalena in late 2025 after moving up from lightweight, underpins his 75.5% implied probability for holding the belt at the end of 2026. Traders see his elite grappling, finishing ability, and pound-for-pound credentials as major barriers for the division's contenders. Ian Machado Garry sits second at 15.7% on the strength of his recent win streak and top ranking, positioning him as the most credible next challenger. Lower-priced options like Carlos Prates and Shavkat Rakhmonov reflect their upside but also recent inactivity or setbacks, while veterans such as Kamaru Usman and Belal Muhammad trail further due to age and prior title losses. The market reflects consensus on Makhachev's edge amid a deep but unproven pool of young talent.
