Benfica commands an 80.5% implied probability for Primeira Liga second place, holding a seven-point lead over Sporting CP in the table after 31 matches, with a perfect unbeaten record, +47 goal difference, and three games remaining against mid-table sides. Their dramatic 2-1 comeback win at Sporting on April 19—sealed by Rafa Silva's 93rd-minute goal under Jose Mourinho—widened the gap and halted Sporting's charge, following the Lions' 0-0 Taça de Portugal draw with leader FC Porto. Porto's 82 points and rock-solid defense make a drop to second (0.8%) improbable, while Sporting's 20% chance requires perfect results and Benfica slip-ups amid favorable scheduling.

In the event of a tie, this market will resolve to the team officially recognized by Primeira Liga as finishing in second place. If multiple teams are officially awarded second place, the market will resolve to the team whose listed name comes first alphabetically.
If at any point it becomes impossible for the listed club to finish 2nd in the 2025-2026 Primeira Liga season (e.g. they are mathematically unable to achieve enough points), the market will resolve to "No".
If the 2025-2026 Primeira Liga season is cancelled, postponed after June 7, 2026, 11:59 PM ET, or there is otherwise no 2nd place team declared within that timeframe, this market will resolve to “Other”.
The primary resolution source will be official information from Primeira Liga. A consensus of credible reporting may also be used.
