Roman Safiullin holds a clear edge in this Stuttgart Open qualifying match on grass against lower-ranked Petr Bar Biryukov. The 28-year-old Russian, currently ranked 141 with a career-high of 36, brings significantly more ATP-level experience and recent competitive matches compared to the 24-year-old Bar Biryukov at approximately 252-269. Their first career meeting features contrasting styles on the fast surface, where Safiullin’s established game and prior grass-court exposure provide the primary advantages. Bar Biryukov, a tall left-hander, will look to leverage his height and serve in the opening round, though limited professional results at this level highlight the challenge. The outcome determines progression into the main draw of the ATP 250 event.
