All ten participants post rapid and blitz ratings within a narrow band, with Abdusattorov’s recent silver medal at the 2025 World Blitz and Praggnanandhaa’s consistent elite-level results in speed events offsetting Gukesh’s classical strength and Firouzja’s proven knockout potential. The preceding Poland leg produced an unexpected winner in Hans Niemann, underscoring how small edges in form, preparation and matchup variance can swing outcomes across the nine-round rapid and eighteen-round blitz schedule. With no single player holding a decisive historical or stylistic advantage on this surface and the event still weeks away, trader consensus reflects broad parity rather than a clear frontrunner.
