In the second round of the ATP Challenger Mauthausen on clay, No. 113 Titouan Droguet faces No. 176 Roman Safiullin in their first head-to-head matchup. Both advanced convincingly in first-round matches on April 28, with Droguet dominating Timofey Skatov 6-2, 6-1 and Safiullin dispatching Cezar Cretu 6-2, 6-4. Safiullin arrives with strong clay-court momentum after reaching the Oeiras Challenger final earlier in April, showcasing improved form on the surface following a challenging 2026. Droguet, the No. 2 seed, carries confidence from a breakout semifinal run as a qualifier at the Montpellier ATP 250 in February, though on indoor hard. No injuries reported; traders eye stylistic contrasts, with Droguet's height advantage (191cm) versus Safiullin's recent surface proficiency potentially decisive amid neutral weather conditions.
