In the WTA 125 Huzhou Open round of 16 on clay, Sijia Wei holds a decided edge as the higher-ranked player at No. 382 with a career-high No. 114, boasting a perfect 2-0 head-to-head record over Wushuang Zheng (No. 426, career-high No. 237) from prior hard-court clashes. Both Chinese players advanced through the round of 32 with straight-sets wins—Wei over Jessica Pieri and qualifier Zheng upsetting No. 6 seed Yexin Ma—demonstrating solid early-tournament form on home clay. Wei's recent injury retirements, including from Australian Open qualifying, introduce slight uncertainty, while Zheng rides qualifier momentum without reported fitness issues. Home crowd support and surface familiarity could influence this closely contested matchup.
