In the Jiujiang Challenger quarterfinals on hard courts, higher-ranked Estonian Mark Lajal (ATP 164, career-high 145) faces Chinese wild card Fajing Sun (ATP 213) in their first head-to-head matchup. Lajal, the No. 8 seed, advanced past Ognjen Milic on April 30, showing solid form after mixed early-2026 results including a recent Challenger win over Maximus Jones. Sun rides hot momentum, having captured a Challenger title against Li Tu on April 19 with straight-set semifinal and final victories, plus a second-round win here over Milić. Home-crowd support and recent hard-court success favor Sun's upset potential against the younger Lajal, whose service game will be key amid no reported injuries.
