Donna Vekic enters this HSBC Championships qualifying match on London grass as the clear favorite over Carole Monnet, backed by her WTA ranking advantage, stronger 2026 results, and 1-0 head-to-head lead. The Croatian, with a career grass win rate above 60 percent, defeated Monnet 6-2 6-4 on clay in Linz qualifying earlier this year. Monnet, ranked outside the top 150, has primarily competed at ITF and lower WTA levels with limited success against higher-ranked opponents. Both players have shown mixed recent form, but Vekic's tour-level experience and surface preference create a significant edge in this first-round qualifier.
