Elina Avanesyan enters the Makarska Open quarterfinal with greater career experience, including a career-high ranking near the top 40 and multiple deep runs at WTA-level events, though her current form shows a 13-10 record and recent wins over players like Tamara Zidansek. Barbora Palicova, ranked slightly higher at 265 with a 5-12 mark this season, advanced via strong ITF results and a round-of-16 victory but faces a stylistic test on the clay surface against the more seasoned right-hander. Limited prior head-to-head history and both players' recent tournament paths heighten the importance of current fitness and adaptation to conditions in this WTA 125 matchup.
