Marta Kostyuk enters the WTA Madrid Open semifinals on a 10-match winning streak, including a Rouen clay title and straight-sets victories over Jessica Pegula, Catherine McNally, and Linda Noskova (7-6(1), 6-0 in the quarterfinals), extending her perfect 9-0 clay record in 2026 as the No. 23 seed. Anastasia Potapova, the No. 56-ranked lucky loser, has fueled trader interest with a stunning upset over Elena Rybakina and a three-set quarterfinal win over Karolina Pliskova (6-1, 6-7(5), 6-3), marking her deepest clay Masters 1000 run. Their head-to-head stands at 2-2, with Kostyuk prevailing in their prior Madrid encounter; outdoor clay conditions and fatigue from late-night matches could influence this evenly matched clash.
