Hanyu Guo faces Maddison Inglis in HSBC Championships qualifying on grass at Queen's Club, where the Australian holds a modest ranking edge at No. 141 to Guo's No. 166. Inglis enters with limited recent success, posting a sub-.500 record and multiple straight-set losses on the ITF and WTA circuits, while Guo arrives with momentum from three Roland Garros qualifying wins before a first-round main-draw exit. Neither player has extensive grass-court experience at this level, though Inglis holds a slight edge in prior grass results; their first career meeting leaves surface adaptation, serving consistency, and current form as primary variables that could shift implied probabilities in this closely contested opener.
