Veronika Erjavec, the No. 96-ranked Slovenian and top seed defending her 2025 Huzhou WTA 125 title on clay, meets No. 170 Xiyu Wang in the semifinals for their first head-to-head clash. Erjavec advanced with a straight-sets quarterfinal victory over Wushuang Zheng, extending her solid 2026 form (11-9 record, career-high No. 91 in March). Home favorite Wang, a lefty riding a 13-1 streak, powered past Chengyiyi Yuan 6-4, 6-4 in quarters after upsetting Zhibek Kulambayeva, boosted by crowd support and recent momentum. No injury concerns reported; key factors include Erjavec's ranking edge and clay experience versus Wang's tournament surge and surface adaptation.
