Veronika Erjavec, the defending champion and No. 96-ranked Slovenian, enters the WTA 125 Huzhou Open clay-court semifinals with strong momentum after straight-sets quarterfinal wins over Meiling Wang and Wushuang Zheng, building on her 2025 title here and recent WTA 125 success in Changsha. Facing her for the first time, No. 170 Xiyu Wang rides a hot streak with victories over Zhibek Kulambayeva, Chengyiyi Yuan, and Polona Hercog in the quarters, leveraging home-crowd support in China and her left-handed game on clay despite a career dip from her No. 49 peak. Trader consensus reflects Erjavec's ranking edge and surface familiarity against Wang's recent 13-1 run and stylistic matchup intrigue, with no reported injuries altering lineups.
