Top-seeded Veronika Erjavec, the defending Huzhou Open champion and WTA No. 96, holds a significant edge over No. 623 Meiling Wang in this WTA 125 clay-court round-of-32 clash, reflecting trader consensus on her superior ranking, experience, and surface proficiency. Erjavec boasts strong recent clay form with quarterfinal runs at Dubrovnik and semifinals at Antalya in March, despite a round-of-16 exit in Oeiras last week, while Wang lacks 2026 clay matches and has limited higher-level success, including a 2025 Huzhou loss. No head-to-head exists, but Wang benefits from home-crowd support in China; no injuries or withdrawals reported ahead of the Center Court matchup.
