Philadelphia Phillies enter the series at 36-31, nine games back in the NL East but riding a 7-3 stretch that has kept them in the wild-card hunt behind a reliable rotation and timely hitting. Toronto Blue Jays sit at 33-35 in the AL East, showing recent signs of life with a split in the first two games of the interleague set. Cristopher Sánchez’s strong outing anchored Philadelphia’s Monday win, while Toronto answered Tuesday behind improved offense and a walk-off. Blue Jays starters Dylan Cease and Max Scherzer are returning from the injured list to bolster a rotation hampered by multiple absences, including Daulton Varsho’s day-to-day wrist issue. Philadelphia’s recent form and depth contrast with Toronto’s home advantage and renewed pitching depth as the three-game series concludes.
