The Cleveland Guardians hold a strong position in the AL Central at 39-33, while the Detroit Tigers sit at 29-42 and trail by over nine games. Cleveland snapped a four-game skid with a 3-2 victory on June 12 behind Tanner Bibee’s strong seven-inning start and Cade Smith’s save, as the Tigers’ offense managed just two home runs. Detroit has dealt with recent pitching setbacks, including Jack Flaherty landing on the injured list with lower-leg soreness after an early exit, though Tarik Skubal continues working back from elbow issues. Home-field advantage at Progressive Field, along with Cleveland’s recent head-to-head edge and bullpen stability, shapes trader views on series outcomes and individual game probabilities amid tight divisional races.
