The Chicago Cubs, sitting at 37-35 and hosting at Wrigley Field, hold a clear edge over the 27-45 Rockies in this upcoming series. Chicago has benefited from strong recent offensive output, including Seiya Suzuki's grand slam in a 9-3 victory during the prior matchup, while dealing with pitching absences such as Matthew Boyd on the 15-day injured list. Colorado enters with extensive roster depletion, notably outfielders Jordan Beck and Brenton Doyle on the injured list alongside multiple starters sidelined, limiting depth in a matchup against a Cubs club showing better overall form and home results. Weather and probable pitching matchups remain key variables heading into the games.
