Sarah Iliev, the 19-year-old French player ranked 733, faces 28-year-old Russian Elina Nepliy, ranked 540, in the second round of the ITF W15 Casablanca on clay. Nepliy enters with stronger recent results, posting a 12-5 record in 2026 compared to Iliev’s 11-10 mark, and holds an edge in overall professional experience at this level. Both compete regularly on the ITF circuit, where ranking points and match toughness often decide outcomes on slower clay surfaces that reward consistency and endurance. No prior head-to-head meetings are recorded, and the draw features standard field depth for a W15 event with no notable withdrawals affecting this matchup. The contest highlights a generational contrast in form and ranking positioning.
