Florent Bax holds a decided edge entering this Abidjan 2 Challenger quarterfinal rematch against Niels Visker on hard courts, following his 4-6, 6-1, 7-6(9) victory over the Dutchman in Abidjan 1 just last week. The No. 3 seed Bax (ATP 265), a 26-year-old Frenchman with a two-handed backhand, advanced with a 6-3, 7-6(2) win over Robert Strombachs and a straight-sets defeat of Aziz Dougaz, showcasing strong recent form. Taller Visker (ATP 541, 6'3", one-handed backhand) reached quarters via Younes Lalami Laaroussi's retirement at 6-2, 4-2, but trails in head-to-head and rankings. No injury concerns reported; hot Abidjan conditions could test endurance in a potential three-setter. Trader consensus likely prices Bax's experience and surface affinity as key advantages.
