In the ATP Challenger Rome quarterfinals on clay, No. 312 Pol Martin Tiffon holds a ranking edge over No. 614 Andrea Vavassori, whose trader-implied probabilities likely reflect his stronger recent singles momentum with a straight-sets 6-4, 6-2 win over Nerman Fatić in the round of 16. Vavassori, a Turin native leveraging home-crowd support and clay familiarity as a doubles specialist (career-high No. 6), grinded out a three-set R32 victory against Maxim Mrva (7-6(4), 6-7(4), 6-3). No head-to-head exists; stylistic matchup favors Tiffon's consistent baseline game versus Vavassori's serve-and-volley tendencies. No injury concerns reported, though short turnaround could test endurance.
