No. 19 seed Learner Tien, the world No. 21 left-handed American rising star, holds a clear ranking edge over 33-year-old veteran Damir Dzumhur (No. 87) in this Internazionali BNL d'Italia second-round clash on Rome's clay courts. Tien, with a first-round bye, boasts breakout form in 2026 despite a 2-8 lifetime tour-level clay record, relying on powerful groundstrokes and improved serve reliability. Dzumhur advanced via a dominant 6-4, 6-0 upset over No. 40 Adrian Mannarino in round one, highlighting his clay movement, unorthodox spins, and recent European momentum (8-15 overall this year, 6-8 on clay). No head-to-head exists; trader consensus factors Tien's youth and upside against Dzumhur's surface savvy and fatigue risk, with mild weather and no injury reports shaping a competitive matchup.
