Karolina Pliskova enters as the form player after reaching the Madrid quarterfinals—her first WTA 1000 clay QF since 2021—edging Elise Mertens and Solana Sierra before falling to Anastasia Potapova, showcasing improved baseline rallies and resilience on the slower surface despite her protected ranking around No. 130. She grinded a 4-6, 6-3, 7-5 comeback over Jessica Bouzas Maneiro in Rome's first round. No. 33 seed Jaqueline Cristian advanced past Beatriz Haddad Maia but carries a 7-4 clay record this year; their first head-to-head favors Pliskova's big serve and experience in WTA 1000 second rounds. Slow Rome clay tests movement, with no reported injuries or withdrawals; Mediterranean weather expected mild. Trader consensus reflects Pliskova's momentum versus Cristian's seeding edge in a competitive matchup.
