Top-seeded Jannik Sinner faces resurgent Arthur Fils in the Madrid Open ATP Masters 1000 semifinals on high-altitude clay, where Sinner holds a 1-0 head-to-head edge from their 2023 Montpellier semifinal win. Sinner, unbeaten at 9-0 on clay in 2026 with a 26-match Masters 1000 streak, dispatched qualifier Rafael Jodar in straight sets during Wednesday's quarterfinals, showcasing baseline dominance despite minor pre-tournament shoulder concerns. Fils, 22-5 since February's return from an eight-month back injury layoff, powered past Jiri Lehecka 6-3, 6-4 with aggressive forehands, maintaining his own perfect clay mark this year. Madrid's elevated bounce favors power hitters, but Sinner's serving consistency and recent form shape trader consensus amid no fresh injury reports.
