No. 113 Titouan Droguet holds a ranking edge over No. 176 Roman Safiullin ahead of their second-round clash at the clay-court Mauthausen Challenger, where both posted straight-sets first-round victories on April 28—Droguet dominating Timofey Skatov 6-2, 6-1, and Safiullin handling qualifier Cezar Cretu 6-2, 6-4. Droguet's superior 2026 form (18-8) includes a Montpellier ATP semifinal run with upsets over Aleksandar Kovacevic and Tallon Griekspoor, bolstering his confidence on the European clay swing, while Safiullin (12-5 YTD) arrives off a Oeiras Challenger semifinal and Alicante quarterfinal. Absent head-to-head history, Droguet's higher ranking, recent momentum, and clay-court comfort shape trader consensus in this competitive matchup.
