Teenage Spanish wildcard Rafael Jodar, ranked No. 42 and riding a dream run at his home Mutua Madrid Open on clay, holds strong trader consensus after upsetting No. 27 seed Joao Fonseca 7-6(4), 4-6, 6-1 in the previous round to reach the last 16 for the first time. The 19-year-old's aggressive baseline play and high-altitude adaptation at La Caja Magica, bolstered by raucous home crowd support, contrast with Vit Kopriva's steadier No. 66 ranking and recent win over Arthur Rinderknech via retirement. No head-to-head history exists; Kopriva's clay experience offers upset potential, but Jodar's momentum from recent Challenger success and youth drive market favoritism amid optimal weather conditions.
