Hyeon Chung enters as the trader favorite in this Gwangju Challenger first-round clash on outdoor hard courts, bolstered by a perfect 3-0 head-to-head record over Jason Jung on the surface prior to their April 21 matchup, including straight-set wins dating back to 2016. Ranked No. 644 with recent Davis Cup qualifier successes against Argentina, Chung holds a clear edge over protected-ranking No. 856 Jung, who lost in the Kobe Challenger last week. No injuries reported; local Korean support may aid Chung as wild card, while Jung seeks momentum in familiar Asian Challenger conditions amid a sparse 2026 singles schedule.
