Hanfmann and Struff, both Germans, enter the Stuttgart Open doubles draw on home grass with local support and strong serving games suited to the fast surface. Struff brings prior deep runs on the surface, while the pairing emphasizes baseline solidity and net play typical of ATP doubles. Doumbia and Gonzalez, a regular partnership, counter with established doubles chemistry and recent competitive form on European swings. The early-round matchup hinges on serve effectiveness, return pressure, and quick adaptation to grass conditions, with no reported injuries or withdrawals altering the field ahead of their scheduled encounter.
