Jesper de Jong, ranked No. 109, enters the ATP Challenger Cagliari quarterfinals on clay as the higher-seeded player with more tour-level experience, fresh off a gritty upset over second seed Adrian Mannarino 6-3, 3-6, 6-1 in the round of 16. Italian wild card Gianluca Cadenasso (No. 232), riding home-crowd momentum, remains unbeaten in sets this week, dispatching Luca Carboni 6-3, 6-1 and Mattia Bellucci 7-5, 6-1. Their first head-to-head favors De Jong's baseline consistency on the slower surface, though Cadenasso's flawless run and familiarity with Cagliari conditions introduce upset potential amid no reported injuries.
