In the Jiujiang Challenger quarterfinals on outdoor hard courts, No. 4 seed Coleman Wong (#122) meets No. 7 seed Yunchaokete Bu (#157), with Wong holding a 1-0 head-to-head edge from his 6-3, 6-4 straight-sets win over Bu in last year's Seoul Challenger on a similar surface. Both advanced convincingly in round-of-16 matches yesterday: Wong downed Rio Noguchi 7-6(2), 6-2 after upsetting veteran Mikhail Kukushkin in the opener, while Bu grinded out tiebreak wins versus Daniel Masur before dominating Andre Ilagan 6-2, 6-3. Wong's height (191cm) and recent upsets like Brandon Nakashima in Delray Beach give him stylistic edges, but Bu's home-crowd support in China and tiebreak resilience add upset potential amid neutral weather conditions.
