In the Madrid Open ATP Masters 1000 semifinal on clay, second seed and former champion Alexander Zverev faces 21-year-old Belgian Alexander Blockx in their first head-to-head matchup. Blockx, ranked No. 69, has fueled trader interest with a breakout run, upsetting No. 10 seed Felix Auger-Aliassime in the third round and defending champion Casper Ruud in quarters via gritty three-set wins, leveraging his 6-4 frame, big serve, and improving clay baseline game amid high-altitude conditions. Zverev, boasting a perfect 3-0 Madrid semifinal record and five straight Masters 1000 semis, dispatched Flavio Cobolli in quarters despite earlier hints of physical discomfort after a scare versus Terence Atmane. No confirmed injuries mar Zverev's strong surface history, positioning trader consensus around his experience against Blockx's momentum.
