Seventh-seeded Blaise Bicknell (ATP 334), leveraging his 191cm height for powerful serving on Abidjan Challenger's outdoor hard courts, meets Yanki Erel (ATP 394) in the second round—their first head-to-head. Both notched round-of-16 wins on April 22: Bicknell dispatched Oskar Brostrom Poulsen 6-4, 6-4 without dropping a set, while Erel rallied past Sasikumar Mukund 3-6, 7-6, 6-4. Bicknell builds on recent Challenger momentum, including upsets over Bor Artnak and Adrian Mannarino earlier in April, contrasting Erel's strong Futures streak capped by a Monastir M15 title run. Warm conditions around 28-30°C favor endurance; no injuries reported, keeping focus on stylistic matchup between Bicknell's baseline power and Erel's lefty resilience.
