In the ATP Challenger Abidjan 2 first-round matchup on hard courts, 18-year-old Moroccan wildcard Karim Bennani (ATP 575) overcame higher-ranked Indian Karan Singh (ATP 420) 6-7(4), 6-4, 6-2, advancing to face the Yanki Erel-Eliakim Coulibaly winner. With no head-to-head history, pre-match trader consensus favored Bennani slightly due to his recent momentum—a round-of-32 upset over Quentin Halys at Marrakech ATP 250 and Abidjan 1 quarterfinals—contrasting Singh's early Abidjan 1 exit to third seed Florent Bax. Live probabilities swung dramatically, Bennani surging from 33% to 73% amid $103K volume as he rallied after dropping the opener, underscoring the volatility of Challenger hard-court encounters.
