Flavio Cobolli enters the Roland Garros semifinal as the higher-ranked player with stronger recent form, having dispatched higher seeds in straight or four sets while conserving energy. Matteo Arnaldi has compiled an improbable run to his first Grand Slam semifinal, but it has come at a steep physical cost through multiple five-setters and nearly 20 hours on court, including a quarterfinal victory over compatriot Matteo Berrettini. Both Italians excel on clay, where their head-to-head is closely split with Arnaldi holding a narrow overall edge yet Cobolli claiming their most recent encounter at this tournament last year. The matchup pits Arnaldi’s proven resilience against Cobolli’s superior ranking, consistency, and fresher legs heading into Friday’s clash.
