Their 2017 Rizin encounter ended with Horiguchi submitting Kape via arm-triangle in the third round, setting up a rematch dynamic that rewards stylistic adjustments and experience. Kape’s power and speed in the division contrast with Horiguchi’s grappling pedigree and durability, while the short-notice announcement earlier this year and home-octagon advantage for Kape shape the matchup. Both fighters arrive with clean recent injury reports and standard training-camp preparations ahead of the Paramount+ card.
