Elina Avanesyan enters this Makarska Open clay-court clash with greater career experience and a higher historical peak ranking, though recent injury setbacks have dropped her current standing. She has shown positive signs by securing a three-set victory over Dominika Salkova in the event and advancing through early rounds. Darja Semenistaja, ranked near 110, has posted consistent results on the surface, including a win over Tena Lukas, leveraging strong baseline consistency and movement suited to clay. Head-to-head data remains limited, while both players navigate a compressed schedule that rewards recent match fitness and recovery between rounds. Trader sentiment reflects Avanesyan’s edge in overall pedigree tempered by Semenistaja’s in-form momentum on the slow surface.
