The New York Knicks and San Antonio Spurs have reached the 2026 NBA Finals following decisive conference runs. The Knicks advanced as Eastern Conference champions with a sweep of the Cleveland Cavaliers in the conference finals and an undefeated postseason streak extending back to their first-round series. The Spurs claimed the Western Conference title by rallying past the top-seeded Oklahoma City Thunder in a seven-game series, leveraging Victor Wembanyama’s defensive presence and roster depth after earlier victories over the Portland Trail Blazers. With Game 1 resulting in a Knicks road win, the series now shifts to San Antonio for Game 2 amid questions of home-court execution and injury management for both clubs.
