Punjab Kings hold a slim edge as table-toppers with 13 points from eight matches, bolstered by captain Shreyas Iyer's leadership and Arshdeep Singh's pace spearhead, despite a narrow six-wicket loss to Rajasthan Royals on April 28 where RR chased 223 via Donovan Ferreira's fiery 52. Defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru sit second on superior net run rate after Gujarat Titans' four-wicket upset on April 30, relying on Virat Kohli's form and Josh Hazlewood's returns amid minor injury concerns. Sunrisers Hyderabad's explosive batting, led by Abhishek Sharma's 425 runs, and RR's momentum keep the top-four playoff race fiercely contested, with no team dominating midway through IPL 2026 and crowd wisdom pricing a tight finish.
