Wesley So and Hans Niemann share the rapid phase lead at 9 points after nine rounds in the 2026 Super Rapid & Blitz Poland, with Vladimir Fedoseev one point back and Fabiano Caruana, Gukesh Dommaraju, and Jan-Krzysztof Duda tied at 6 in the tightly packed 10-player round-robin field of 2700+ GMs. Trader consensus prices all contenders evenly as the double round-robin blitz begins May 8, where 18 games under 5+2 time control amplify volatility, rewarding speed specialists like So and Niemann while exposing classical stars like world champion Gukesh or young gun Javokhir Sindarov to upsets amid home-crowd boosts for Polish wildcards Duda and Radosław Wojtaszek. Recent rapid draws and blunders underscore the razor-thin margins keeping probabilities balanced.
