The Chicago Cubs enter the upcoming series against the Colorado Rockies at Wrigley Field with a stronger overall record near .500 and a middle-of-the-pack NL Central standing, while the last-place Rockies sit well below .400 in the NL West. Recent head-to-head results at Coors Field saw Colorado take two of three, highlighted by walk-off wins and strong offensive output in thin air, though Chicago responded with a 9-3 victory powered by Seiya Suzuki’s grand slam and Alex Bregman’s homer. Key factors include the Cubs’ home-field advantage, pitching depth despite recent IL placements for starters like Jameson Taillon, and the Rockies’ ongoing roster challenges amid a poor season-long run differential. Weather at Wrigley and any late lineup adjustments could influence outcomes in what projects as a competitive interleague set.
