Emilio Nava enters as trader consensus favorite over No. 63 seed Hubert Hurkacz in the Cagliari Challenger round of 16 on clay, driven by Nava's superior 11-8 clay record this year versus Hurkacz's 4-2, highlighting the American's baseline consistency and recent three-set battles against top players like Ben Shelton and Jiri Lehecka. Both advanced routinely in round of 32 matches yesterday—Nava via Damir Dzumhur's retirement at 6-4, 3-0, and Hurkacz straight-sets over Zachary Svajda 6-2, 7-6(8) with 11 aces—amid no reported injuries. First head-to-head favors Nava's clay adaptation over Hurkacz's power game muted by slower conditions; quarterfinal vs. Matteo Berrettini awaits winner.
