Sofia Polcanova enters this WTT Women's Singles matchup as the higher-ranked contender at ITTF World No. 40 with 700 points, bolstered by consistent recent form including round-of-32 appearances at WTT Champions Doha and Chongqing 2026, where she challenged top Chinese players like Chen Xingtong and Jia Nan Yuan before narrow defeats. Pyon Song Gyong, ranked outside the top 50 from DPR Korea, showed grit in ITTF Worlds 2026 group stages but fell 0-4 to Sun Yingsha and has limited WTT tour exposure lately. With no head-to-head history, traders weigh Polcanova's tour experience and steadier results against Pyon's potential for upsets in best-of-seven format, amid no reported injuries or withdrawals.
