Sinja Kraus enters the Madrid Open qualifying matchup against Martina Trevisan with a clear ranking edge at No. 120 versus Trevisan's No. 563, plus a 1-0 head-to-head lead from their 2025 Lexus Tolentino encounter. Kraus rides momentum from recent clay-court wins, including over Darja Semenistaja and Petra Marcinko in prior qualifiers, showcasing strong form on the surface ahead of this red clay test. The 32-year-old Trevisan, a former top-20 clay specialist and lefty, seeks resurgence after a middling 6-5 record this year marked by ITF-level play. Youthful athleticism favors Kraus, but Trevisan's experience and baseline grinding could force a decider in this competitive WTA 1000 qualifier.
