Maria Timofeeva, the seventh seed ranked No. 118, faces No. 297 Yasmine Kabbaj in the Makarska Open quarterfinals on clay in Croatia. Timofeeva enters with a 17-10 record in 2026 and prior Top-100 experience, including a career-high of No. 93, while Kabbaj holds a 13-14 mark after advancing past Dalila Jakupovic. The Uzbek has shown stronger consistency on the surface this season, whereas the Moroccan qualifier posted her best WTA result at the clay-court Morocco Open but faces a significant ranking gap and limited prior exposure against higher-ranked opponents. Both players are 22 years old with no reported injuries or withdrawals affecting the draw.
