Rebecca Sramkova enters as the higher-ranked player at No. 122 with WTA experience, including a career-high No. 33 and a strong first-round upset over No. 8 seed Oksana Selekhmeteva 6-2, 6-4 on clay in La Bisbal d'Emporda, signaling momentum on the red clay surface. Qualifier Caroline Werner (No. 273) advanced via dominant qualifying wins, including 6-1, 6-0 over Ruth Roura Llaverias, showcasing her current form despite a 4-9 YTD record. No head-to-head history exists, making this round-of-16 clash competitive; trader consensus reflects the balanced matchup, with Sramkova's superior ranking and recent seed scalp offset by Werner's fresh tournament run and potential fatigue factor for the direct entrant. Outdoor clay conditions favor baseline rallies, where both have shown competence lately.
