Anna Kalinskaya enters as the higher-ranked player at No. 13 against No. 27 Katerina Siniakova in this Internazionali BNL d'Italia second-round clash on clay, holding a 2-1 head-to-head edge from hard-court meetings, including a straight-sets win in Cincinnati last year. Siniakova advanced convincingly 6-2, 6-3 over Loïs Boisson in the opener, showcasing sharp serving and returns despite a minor left knee tweak during Madrid doubles last week—no reported issues since her singles loss there to Caty McNally. Kalinskaya dispatched qualifier Viktoriya Tomova 6-2, 6-4, building on her Charleston quarterfinal run with flat power suiting slower clay. No major injury concerns; expect a baseline grinder testing movement and error rates under Rome's outdoor conditions.
