In the WTA 125 Huzhou Open first-round clash on clay, higher-ranked Hanyu Guo (No. 173) of China faces veteran Dalila Jakupovic (No. 369) of Slovenia, with Guo benefiting from home support at HuzhouWuxing and stronger 2026 singles form (9-6 record). Both arrive off recent clay defeats in Chinese ITFs—Guo falling in Luan W100 quarters to Alexandra Shubladze last week, Jakupovic exiting 6-4, 6-2 in Baotou W50 first round on April 22—highlighting vulnerability but also adaptation to the surface. Their 1-1 head-to-head dates to 2019 hard-court win for Jakupovic, leaving room for upset potential absent injury news or withdrawals. Trader consensus reflects Guo's ranking edge, recent momentum, and crowd factor in this evenly matched opener.
