Top-seeded Veronika Erjavec (WTA No. 96) holds a decisive edge over Wushuang Zheng (No. 426) in this WTA 125 Huzhou Open quarterfinal on outdoor clay, where Erjavec boasts a strong 12-7 record this year and straight-set wins over Meiling Wang (6-0, 6-3) and Sofya Lansere (6-3, 6-3) in the first two rounds. Zheng, a Chinese wildcard riding home-crowd energy, advanced via a 6-3, 6-4 upset of Yexin Ma and Sijia Wei's retirement at 4-3 in the second set, marking her best run on clay (5-2 in 2026) at lower ITF levels. No prior head-to-head or injury concerns noted; Erjavec's superior rankings, surface history, and tournament dominance shape trader consensus amid Zheng's upset potential.
