Top-seeded Veronika Erjavec, the defending champion at the WTA 125 Huzhou Open on clay, meets resurgent Xiyu Wang in the semifinals after both secured quarterfinal wins on May 1. Erjavec extended her strong tournament run with straight-set victories over Meiling Wang, Sofya Lansere, and Wushuang Zheng, leveraging her world No. 96 ranking and consistent baseline play. Wang, ranked No. 170 but boasting a 21-1 record in 2026, rallied past Polona Hercog 6-3, 6-7, 6-4 in the quarters following a straight-sets dismissal of Chengyiyi Yuan; her left-handed game and home-crowd support in China add upset potential despite no prior head-to-head. No injury concerns reported, with clay suiting both players' styles.
