Top-seeded Veronika Erjavec (WTA No. 96), the defending Huzhou Open champion on outdoor clay, meets unranked qualifier Sofya Lansere (No. 276) in WTA 125 round two with no head-to-head history. Erjavec dominated her opener 6-0, 6-3 over wildcard Meiling Wang, extending her strong 2026 clay form amid an 11-9 season record. Lansere, riding a 17-9 slate, upset Justina Mikulskyte 6-3, 6-3 but enters as a clear underdog against the Slovenian's superior ranking, seeding, and title defense momentum. No injuries reported; trader consensus prices Erjavec's experience and surface affinity as decisive edges in this best-of-three matchup.
